January 30, 2010

We made it to Indianapolis, IN after getting 6 inches of snow in Chandler, IN.  The roads were clear of snow all the way here.  We had a safe drive - Yes, Joy was driving.  HAHAHA.

We are looking forward to our services here in the morning.  Nervous? Yes.  Meeting new people is right up Darin's alley, but not one of the favorite things of mine or Dylan's.  Dalton and Melissa usually do very well.

In the afternoon, we will drive to New Castle, IN and get prepared for our evening service there.  Looking forward to a great day in the Lord.

Pray for us.  Dylan and Melissa have been dealing with coughs and congestion.  The past couple of days, Darin has started coughing as well.  Praying Melissa feels well enough to sing tomorrow.

UPDATE:  Last weekend went great.  We had morning service with Bro. Doug Phillips in Wabash, IN.  Received a note from them today about our offering.  It made our day!  We spend last Sun. evening with Terry Hinds at Liberty in Wolcottville, IN.  After the service we enjoyed food and fellowship with his family in their home.  It was a good time for all of us.

Keep praying!  Every day we are realizing more and more how a missionary can say with all their heart "I long to be there".  (Our "there" is NY.)  God gives you that desire to serve Him and you just want to get there and DO IT!   We are praying for all our missionary friends on itinerate.

OH... we have another birthday boy tomorrow.  Pray he has a good day.  Dylan will be 12 years old tomorrow - ask him what he wants and he says "to go to Missouri".  Praying he has a good day in Indiana.

Thanks for the prayers!  Love you all!

Wabash, IN area

Darin preached at the White River Association in Indiana this morning.  He rode up with his dad, pastor, and men from church.  The kids and I drove up today after Dylan and Melissa's basketball games.  After a 5 hr drive we pulled into the hotel parking lot.  A quick drop off of our belongings into the room and then off to the Chinese restaurant.  It sure is good... but I don't think my blood sugar levels are good after eating Chinese.

Tomorrow we have services at Emmanuel FWB Church, Wabash, IN.  Tomorrow evening we will be at Liberty FWB Church, Wolcotville, IN.  We are looking forward to good services.

Keep praying!  Wouldn't it be great to see God provide our support by late summer!!  Can He do it?!?!  OF COURSE HE CAN!!  Do we have the FAITH that He can do it?!?!  That is the question.  WELL, I am saying right now... I HAVE THE FAITH!!   Pray our support comes in by the end of the summer.

Ohio Bound

Tomorrow morning at 3:30 a.m., we are headed to Ohio for an 11 a.m. service and a 7 p.m. service.

It is always rush time trying to get everyone ready to go.  Kids want to watch their tv and not keeping moving at "mom's" pace.  LOL  Imagine that?!?!

We will be coming back home on Thursday, which is Dalton's birthday.  Then the schedule for the weekend continues.

I will update for that at another time.  On to bed for some much needed sleep.  Champ kept me up barking til 2 a.m. or later.  Dumb dog!!  lol

Keep praying for us!

Busy day!

We had a busy day catching up on laundry and schooling.  The kids were thankful when we said they could be done for the day.  LOL  It has been a very productive day.

More to catch up on tomorrow and the rest of the week.

Darin scheduled more services today... filling in some gaps that needed to be filled.

Next week will be very busy. So we will be enjoying a fairly calm week here at home rest of this week and weekend.  Ball practices and ball games are back into full swing.  Yeah!  Things will be a little calmer when basketball is over.

We are going to try and get caught up on sleep and be prepared for the extremely busy week ahead.

Goodnight for now!

Home At Last!

We made it home after a 14 hr drive.  Whew!  What a day!

The kids feel right to sleep after getting to bed.  Laundry has been started and Darin is watching sports.  Imagine that?!?!  Hahaha.

We are thankful for a great visit with friends that we hadn't seen in years, Donnie and Tracy Price.  The visit with Brian and Emily was wonderful and has made us more excited to get to NY and help get the work started there.  Visiting Tamela, Stephen, Eli, and new baby boy Kaeden was absolutely enjoyable.  We miss seeing them more often.  The boys are beautiful like their mother, of course.  LOL  We love you too Stephen.

Thanks to all who made our first big trip memorable.  We are looking forward to the rest of the month and the short weekend trips.

Keep praying!

Now, to think about tomorrow and all that we need to catch up on for school.  AAAhhhhh!  hehehe

NC Travels - cont'd

Thank you to Donnie and Tracy Price and Rosebud Church in Wilson.  The Prophet's Chamber has been great!  We have enjoyed our stay here and enjoyed the visits with the Price family.  Looking forward to seeing you all again in the near future, maybe.

Joy and the kids went to Jr. Church and spoke to 12 children about Buffalo, NY.  It was fun and something different for them.

We are all looking forward to getting home tomorrow night and back to a full school schedule on Tuesday.

Thanks to all who prayed for our family the past 10 days.  (Especially the past 4 days when we have taken turns being sick.)

We have a service next weekend at Faith FWB in Chandler, IN. (Darin's home church where we have been attending.)

Keep praying for us.  Pray for support to come in.  Pray we follow God's leading in this "Journey to Buffalo".

Still in NC

We are feeling better this morning.  Dalton and Dylan were sick yesterday evening.  They seem to be doing better this morning.  After a little breakfast, we are headed back to Goldsboro to visit Tamela and family.  (Darrel and Linda are still here too).

We miss our home.  Joy misses her family and MO friends.  Love to you all.

Our Family

This is something new to us. Bare with us as we learn how to do something new.

We want to keep our family, friends, and NEW friends updated on what we are doing or where we are.

At this moment, we are in Wilson, NC. We made it here yesterday after spending the past 5 days in these areas: Dunn, NC; Durham, NC; and Lincolnton, NC.

We left Indiana on Jan. 2nd. Had 2 services on Sunday. Good services. THANK YOU to Prospect FWB Church and Oak Grove FWB Church for their support to help us get to Buffalo, NY. We are very excited about getting there. We visited East Belmont FWB Church on Jan. 6th. WELL, some of us did. Melissa got sick so Joy had to stay out of church with her. We thank East Belmont for their support as well.

Our biggest thanks right now goes to John and Rita Murphy and their WONDERFUL hospitality to this family of 5. Thank you for the comfy beds and the wonderful breakfasts. It was GREAT getting to know them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Brian and Emily Williams and family. Baby Lucas stole our all our hearts. Leah and Lauren will be forever friends with Melissa. She enjoyed staying with them 2 nights this week and going to school with them. WHAT FUN SHE HAD!! Thank you, Brian and Emily, for EVERYTHING! You over did yourselves, AGAIN. We love you all! Very much looking forward to some precious times in Buffalo as we serve our amazing and wonderful God! Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

It has been a great time for our family on the road so far. Thanks for your prayers and for your support. Wherever we go, we know God's people are praying for us! A great amount of peace and comfort comes from being right where God wants us to be.

Love to all our family and friends.
